What's Happening!

Please follow the link, to find a printable copy of a consumer survey which the October is Arts Month committee has distributed County-wide in an effort to collect very important consumer data.

The Ontario Ministry of Tourism and other funding organizations require partners to track participation in festivals and events to determine community impact. Aggregate information collected supports future applications and better placement of our marketing dollars.

When your event is complete, please drop off completed surveys/ballots at the Northumberland CFDC Office at 600 William St. By participating and helping to ensure ballots are completed and returned to the CFDC Office, you’ll be helping our efforts to market next year’s October is Arts Month events.

Young Musicians

October Is Arts Month is a collaborative county wide initative led by the Spirit of the Hills, the Brighton Arts Council and the Arts Council of Northumberland and Northumberland County.

It includes all areas of professional and amateur arts; performing and visual as well as our diverse heritage. October Is Arts Month will help to develop new attitudes about arts culture and heritage and build a stronger sense of the value of artists and their work, culture and heritage and the important roles they play within our community.

Through the month of October arts groups are encouraged to participate and to work with artists and municipalities to provide opportunities for the public to learn more about their particular cultural activity. Cultural groups and individual artists, who do not keep regular studio hours, and would like to attract new audiences, are being encouraged to open their doors for a few hours or more through the month of October to provide, interactive experiences or demonstrations.
