Cultural Heritage Day In Brighton - October 1 - The Municipality Heritage Advisory Committee presents a celebration of the collective cultural heritage of Brighton Saturday October 1st, 2011. It is a commemoration of Brighton's 160th Centennial which is recognition of the creation of the Town of Brighton and the Township of Brighton in 1851, as well as the 10th anniversary of the amalgamation of the two creating the Municipality of Brighton, January 1, 2001. There will be several daytime activities, notably guided walks in town and tours of rural areas. Meet at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Main Street. At 7:00 p.m. 'designated' Heritage Properties will be presented with plaques at the Masonic Hall 153 Main Street. The owners of the properties who are listed on the Municipality Register of Properties of Heritage Value or Interest will receive certificates.
